Egg freezing is now clinically available and very successful. At InVia, we have now been offering this option for the last few years. For the past year, we have been using a technique called the "Cryo Tech" technique, which is the state-of-the-art technology with excellent success rates. The chances of success, however, are higher in younger patients. The following is a link to an article summarizing experience of a group in the UK.

According to this study, the implantation rates for embryos made from vitrified eggs were 18.8% in the under-30s to 10.3% in the over-40s. This means that in women less than age 30 y, 18.8 out of 100 eggs will result in a pregnancy. In women over 40 y, only 10.3 out of 100 eggs will result in a pregnancy. Egg freezing is thus a option. However, it is NOT a fool proof solution. Women should be made aware of the importance of not delaying motherhood.
