Dr. Karande is certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and infertility from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Board certification is an ongoing process in which doctors are evaluated by the Board. In order to become and remain Board-certified, Dr. Karande has had to meet a set of requirements including:
- A residency in obstetrics and gynecology
- A fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility
- A difficult written and oral exam
- Yearly reading assignments
- A written exam every six years that includes obstetrics, gynecology, infertility, and in vitro fertilization
