In a previous blog, I have paid tribute to Dr. Howard Jones, Jr. who was my teacher at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia. The American Society for Reproductive medicine has recognized his contributions to our specialty in a recent press release. Also published on their website is a video where Dr. Howard is interviewed by Dr. Suheil Muasher who was the Director of the IVF program at Norfolk during my fellowship years (1988- 1990).
Here is a link to the excellent video in which Dr. Howard Jones Jr. speaks about the early days of IVF. Dr's Howard and Georgeanna Jones were the pioneers of IVF in the U.S.. Dr. Howard as we all called him, passed away on July 31st, 2015 at the age of 104.
