The Rolling Stones wrote a very famous song with the lyrics: "pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name." While undoubtedly one of the greatest lyrics ever written (yes, I am a Stones fan), it also is a very true line in our day to day lives.
As you begin your journey with us, we see you very often, daily even. We call you up by name, ask you to state your name, write your name daily. And we remember your face AND your name. But as you leave us to go to your OB/GYN or are busy with your new family, we have met more patients, and more names, and even though we nearly always remember your face, your name is now back in the dark recesses of our minds.
We love seeing our patients come back with their babies in the office, or seeing you in the library or Starbucks or wherever! But....perhaps if its been awhile since you've been our patient, a good way of approaching us is "pleased to meet you, I won't make you guess my name" and introduce yourself to us again. We are undoubtedly saying in our minds "oh I remember this patient!!!! but...what is their name!"....so we thank you in advance!
