In Vitro Fertilization for Same-Sex Couples
In vitro fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproduction technology that can help people in same-sex relationships conceive a child. The IVF process begins with ovulation induction (OI) medication to create several mature eggs. The eggs are retrieved and fertilized with donor sperm in our state-of-the-art laboratory.
After five days of monitoring, the healthiest embryo is then transferred into the uterus with the hopes of a successful implantation.
Reciprocal IVF for Same-Sex Couples
If both women in a relationship wish to be involved with the IVF process, a fertility treatment called reciprocal IVF is available. Eggs are retrieved from one partner and are fertilized in our lab. The embryo is then transferred into the other partner’s uterus so they can carry the pregnancy.
